The rates used
Rates for Amazon.com, checked against KDP's help pages on . KDP changes its rates: confirm them with KDP before you set a price.
- Paperback printing, black ink: 24 to 108 pages $2.30 (large trim $2.84); 110 to 828 pages $1.00 plus $0.012 a page (large trim $0.017).
- Paperback printing, standard colour: 72 to 600 pages $1.00 plus $0.0255 a page (large trim $0.0402).
- Paperback printing, premium colour: 24 to 40 pages $3.60 (large trim $4.20); 42 to 828 pages $1.00 plus $0.065 a page (large trim $0.08).
- Paperback royalty: 60% of the list price minus printing from $9.99, 50% below $9.99. Highest list price $250.
- Hardcover: $6.80 plus $0.012 a page, black ink, 75 to 550 pages; royalty 60% of the list price minus printing.
- Ebook: 70% of the list price minus delivery for list prices from $2.99 to $9.99, with delivery at $0.15 a MB by default; 35% of the list price otherwise.
- Print books have an even number of pages: an odd page count gets a blank last page and is costed as the next even count.
