About the book
Lela Cavendish, young, well-bred, and delicate, was a talented young artist, who flees from a brutal stepfather and an unwanted suitor and seeks sanctuary in Amsterdam where she finds safety with a titled art collector, or so she thinks. Carew, Marquis of Kyneston, had only three problems: he was too rich, too successful--and too handsome. Nevertheless, twice burned in affaires d'amour, the disillusioned Peer sailed for Amsterdam, vowing he would have no more to do with devious womankind. Lela gazed in helpless anguish at the forbidding aristocrat before her. The Marquis had awakened Lela's astonished heart to the tumultuous wonder of everlasting love... and yet he was the man she was about to deceive!
