About the book

Lady Panthea Vyne, the thirteen-year-old daughter of the Marquess of Staverly, is persuaded into a secret marriage with a Roundhead -- the bestial tax-collector, Christian Drysdale, because of his promise to save her brother, Richard, form the scaffold.
