About the book
Galadriel "El" Higgins is a young sorceress attending the Scholomance, a school of magic where students are sealed off from the world for four years with no adult teachers. Monsters that feed on magical energy threaten every young wizard, and half of the pupils die before graduation. El has formidable destructive power, but she is determined to survive without harming others. Her classmates tend to shun her, and she must build alliances while mastering dangerous spells. A boy from a wealthy wizard enclave, Orion Lake, unexpectedly becomes part of her struggle to reach graduation alive.
